Pham Luan (1954)

Pham Luan was born in Hanoi in 1954. He graduated from Hanoi's Teachers Training College and did not receive a formal education as an artist. Pham Luan is nevertheless one of the most successful Vietnamese artists of the younger generation. His paintings portray the city of Hanoi and also typical Vietnamese settings. The paintings are a cross of impressionistic and naïf style and are also reminiscent of Phai’s style. Pham Luan regularly exhibits in Hong Kong.
