Mai Long (1931)

Mai Long is a brilliant but little known artist outside of Vietnam. He graduated from the Fine Arts College in 1954. The artist won many prizes awarded by national paintings exhibitions. A great number of his works are displayed in museums in Vietnam, Moscow and Eastern Europe and in private collections. Mai Long’s work is mostly done on silk.

“I deem it was completely unmeaning if the painting describes merely the appearance of the objective existence- I try my best to discover the latent depth, making the spirit of objects move and brighten, creating the vivid impression for their beauty.” (Mai Long)
